  • The journal language is English. Either British or American English can be used, but be consistent within the manuscript. Authors should check for consistent spelling of names, terms, and abbreviations, including in tables and figure captions. If you are not a native English speaker, we strongly recommend that you have your manuscript professionally edited before submission or read by a native English-speaking colleague.
  • The author's declaration should include the name and surname, academic degrees, and the organisation address(es) of the author(s).
  • For a general visual appearance of the manuscript, take a look at the recent issues of the journal.

  • Illustrations must be of high quality. Black-and-white photographs should be sharp, and contrast and their reduction minimally to one-half of original size can be desirable.
  • Each illustration should be referenced in the text. Each illustration should be numbered and, in the case of cited illustrations, the appropriate source of the reference should be given. Captions of the illustrations should be written using font Times New Roman, font size 12 pt, in italics.

  • For captions use font Times New Roman, size 12 points, italics.

  • Only the author-date system of references style (Harvard) is acceptable.
  • References should be listed alphabetically. In the reference list, names of all authors should be given.
  • Do NOT use "et al." in the list of references!
  • For the author-date style, do not number the references in the reference list, and in the text refer to the author's name (without initials), followed by the year of publication (both in parenthesis), e.g. "... the previous study (Surname, 2026)..." or "...Surname (2026) considered...".
  • If a reference is made in the text to a publication written by more than two authors, the name of the first author should be used, followed by "et al.".
  • If the authors are not sure how to properly create the list of references using Harvard referencing style, they can use one of many online services (https://www.citethisforme.com, https://www.citationmachine.net/, etc.).
